@guestofaguest Yeasayer is playing an amazing show at terminal 5. Lights and sounds and a crowd intent on singing along. Amazing!

@beckybratu The keyboard just broke. @Yeasayer says they have “shitty gear.”

@electr1cpanda Interesting to see Yeasayer command a crowd stronger than Dispatch could. “Bench” depth? #sportsanalogy

@twist_nyc “That was like a Soundgarden version of one ofour songs. That sounded amazing.” #yeasayer #waitforthesummer

@willhutson Yeasayer threw out their setlist … “what the fuck would LCD Soundsystem do if all their gear died?”

@lollopeplusssss Yeasayer - cactus on the stage!

@Alicia_LaBelle Yeasayer - best T5 concert I’ve seen

@MaraSiegler Keyboard busted at yeasayer, but they’re managing to do really cool synth-less songs.

@sokane1 Lol lead singer of Yeasayer - “fuck this neighborhood, there’s a Boston Market over there”

@twist_nyc “I don’t even know where this place is. There’s a Boston Market out there. Thanks for coming out to N Hell’s Kitchen!” #yeasayer #terminal5

@twist_nyc Technical malfunctions or no @Yeasayer made all their songs sound fresh and tight as hell. Awesome show!

@amanda1N Yeasayer is meant to be seen live. That’s all. #amazingtimesinfinity

@LeeBillings Yeasayer killed it @ Terminal 5 tonight, despite a malfunctioning synth. #\m/ >_< \m/

@railbirdcory Great show at Terminal 5. Loved @hushck and @Yeasayer was awesome, even without a keyboard! Can’t wait for next tour

5/27 - Yeasayer @ Wonder Ballroom, Portland OR

Ventured South last night to see Yeasayer. It was a lot like déjà vu; the boyfriend and I made the same trip to see them last April, and since then I’ve seen them a total of 5 times. Smith Westerns and Hush Hush opened, both were awesome, but Hush Hush really stole the show…

So much good music in the past couple of weeks! Feeling fortunate.

An excellent, detailed review of the show, with lots of great pics + setlist »

Snippet…

Of the three new songs that Yeasayer played, “Devil And The Deed” and “Henrietta” both felt similar in both vibe and quality as the tracks on Odd Blood, while “Demon Road” had a more primal feel and felt more like an All Hours Cymbals track. The most welcome aspect of all the songs was that none felt trying or out of place, but, rather, fit seamlessly with the rest of the parade of their strongest material.

Seeing as I can’t stop teeth drumming and humming along to COUNTRY-FRIED ‘O.N.E’, (recently recorded this morning on Triple J) I might as well upload some pics from Monday’s gig @ Metro Theatre in Sydney. IT WAS FREAKISHLY AMAZING, JUST SO YOU KNOW.

HNNNNNNNNG.

Setlist (from memory): Tightrope, O.N.E, Rome, Wait for the Summer, Mondegreen, Sunrise, Madder Red, Red Cave, Ampling Alp

Encore: 2080.

Another encore tune would have been nice, like Strange Reunions, Final Path or Wintertime (all three would be the dream), but they obviously preferred to leave us yelling for one more.

My camera died after this last photo of Yeasayer.

“Laneway, Rainway, Mudway” ! daphnelogy’s fest review »

I was so psyched for Yeasayer and they opened with “Madder Red”. And OMG they were just awesome! I took a couple of photos in the rain and then my camera decided to die on me. Boo.. But Yeasayer’s “Ambling Alp”, “2080”, “ONE”, “Love Me Girl” definitely made me forget and just rock on to them. My sister and I actually learned and memorised the lyrics to “2080” and it was super fun to sing along to…  read more »

Rainway Festival

yeasayer ! laneway singapore 2011.01.29 reblogging fyonafinn:

The weather was fine then it drizzled then it poured then it was fine then it poured then it drizzled then it stopped then it drizzled then it poured & repeat. Everyone was dripping wet despite having our raincoats and umbrellas. I couldn’t open my eyes at one point because the rain was that intense. […]

Despite it being an icky rainy mudfest the whole festival was absolutely mind-blowing for both the artistes & audience! Warpaint are my new idols foshizzle who says all-girl bands have no future! Ladyhawke was a BAMF I love her tattoo on her left arm. Beach House was tripping everyone out in the middle of the day. Deerhunter began to warm everyone up for the evening. The night officially started when Holyfuck came on stage. !!! was absolutely hilarious with the vocalist gyrating the whole time & a girl literally threw her bra to the stage. Yeasayer couldn’t stop saying how amazing we are how amazing Singapore is how amazing it is to be here but didn’t allow us enough to tell them how amazing THEY are. Foals was crazy the crowd went…  ! read more… »

One of my favorite memories of last year was when they played a free, secret show at Northeastern. In early March. Outside. At night. In the freezing cold.
I went with a bunch of my friends and we froze. I couldn’t feel my face or feet. Some bro stomped on my foot and I didn’t even notice how bad it hurt until the next day, when my feet finally thawed. The funny part? I didn’t care because they were so good. […] I would see them again in a second.
